Job summary

LeoForce, a well-established nonprofit, is seeking a results-driven Controller to lead day-to-day accounting operations and ensure accurate financial reporting, audits, and internal controls. This hands-on leadership role reports to the CFO and emphasizes strengthening processes while guiding the accounting team.

The ideal candidate has CPA credentials, 10+ years in nonprofit accounting, and experience with multi-entity reporting, grants, and ERP systems.

Qualifications

• Active CPA license required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Prior Controller, Assistant Controller, Director of Accounting, or equivalent experience.
• Strong nonprofit accounting background.
• Significant audit and financial reporting experience.
• Advanced knowledge of GAAP, close, reconciliations, and internal controls.
• Experience managing and developing accounting teams.
• Experience with Sage Intacct, NetSuite, or a comparable ERP.
• Exposure to multi-entity, multi-state, or grant-funded accounting.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

A well-established national nonprofit is hiring a Controller to lead its day-to-day accounting operations and oversee financial reporting, audit, compliance, internal controls, and accounting team development.

This is a hands-on leadership role reporting to the CFO. The Controller will be expected to stay close to the work while also improving systems, strengthening processes, and helping the Finance team operate more effectively.
