Overview

Our client, a rapidly growing healthcare organization, is seeking an experienced Controller to lead accounting operations, strengthen financial processes, and develop a growing team. This Controller role is ideal for a hands-on leader who enjoys process improvement, mentoring staff, and driving financial reporting excellence in a complex, multi-entity environment.

The Controller will play a critical role in standardizing workflows, enhancing internal controls, improving reporting accuracy, and supporting strategic decision-making through data-driven financial analysis. This position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact while partnering closely with executive leadership.

Responsibilities

The Controller will be responsible for:

• Leading all day-to-day accounting operations and month-end close processes
• Driving process improvement initiatives and documenting accounting procedures
• Strengthening internal controls and ensuring adherence to GAAP standards
• Mentoring, training, and developing accounting team members across multiple levels
• Managing financial reporting and analysis for a large, multi-department organization
• Overseeing revenue recognition and ensuring timely, accurate reporting
• Analyzing historical financial data to identify trends, efficiencies, and business insights
• Supporting cost accounting efforts, departmental allocations, and profitability analysis
• Reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements
• Collaborating with finance leadership to improve reporting capabilities and operational efficiencies
• Assisting with future system enhancements and technology-driven process improvements

Core Competencies & Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Minimum 5 years of healthcare accounting experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with Sage ERP systems
• Familiarity with Epic or healthcare-related ERP/EMR systems
• Experience utilizing Power BI, Power Query, or Power Pivot
• Background supporting multi-location or multi-business-unit organizations
• Experience preparing and analyzing healthcare cost reports
