Job summary

Sol Rise Staffing partners with a large Phoenix organization to identify an experienced Corporate Controller to lead its accounting function. This is a hands-on accounting leader role in a large, complex environment, focusing on accuracy, internal controls, and timely reporting.

The position offers a hybrid work arrangement (1 day from home) with a base salary of $150,000–$170,000 plus bonus and outstanding medical benefits and PTO, and a clear path to becoming the top accounting leader within

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
• Controller-level experience overseeing accounting for an organization with $100M+ in annual revenue.
• Experience in a large, complex organization with sophisticated accounting operations.
• Strong technical accounting and GAAP knowledge.
• Demonstrated experience leading, mentoring, and developing accounting teams.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills to partner across all levels of the organization.
• Hands-off leadership style with ability to balance strategic oversight with day-to-day accounting operations.
• CPA and/or MBA preferred.
• Nonprofit accounting experience preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the organization’s accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, financial reporting, and month-end and year-end close.
• Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements and management reports.
• Maintain and strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team while promoting accountability and collaboration.
• Oversee annual financial audits and coordinate with external auditors.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable accounting standards.
• Partner with senior leadership and cross-functional teams on accounting and business matters.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, systems, controls, and overall efficiency.
• Remain hands-on and engaged in the accounting function while effectively leading and developing the broader team.
• Support organizational initiatives and special projects as needed.
