Job summary

Talent Edge Recruiting is seeking a hands-on Controller to lead the accounting and finance function in Uptown Oklahoma City. This true ownership role places you on a small senior leadership team, overseeing cross-entity accounting and compliance.

You will manage month-end close, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and payroll coordination with a PEO. Onsite work in OKC is required, with up to 15% bonus potential and full benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership.
• Insurance-industry experience preferred.
• Hands-on management of close, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, AP/AR, compliance, and audits.

Responsibilities

• Own month-end close, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, AP/AR coordination.
• Lead and develop a small accounting and administrative team.
• Oversee accounting across multiple entities and light administrative duties.
• Manage commission accounting, contracts, and agency/vendor matters.
• Coordinate payroll and benefits with the company's PEO, including enrollments and renewals.
• Serve as main contact for HR, payroll, benefits, and compliance matters.
• Participate in leadership meetings to shape company strategy.

A well-established consulting firm in Uptown Oklahoma City is seeking a hands-on Controller to lead its accounting and finance function. This is a true ownership role, with a seat on a small senior leadership team.

What You'll Do

• Own month-end close, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, AP/AR, tax coordination, audits, and insurance-related compliance
• Lead and develop a small accounting and administrative team
• Oversee accounting across multiple entities, plus light administrative and facilities oversight
• Manage commission accounting, contracts, and related agency/vendor matters
• Coordinate payroll and benefits administration with the company's PEO, including enrollment, eligibility, and renewals
• Serve as the main point of contact for HR, payroll, benefits, and compliance matters
• Participate in leadership meetings to help shape company strategy

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• Insurance-industry experience
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 2–5 years in leadership
• Hands-on ownership of close, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, AP/AR, compliance, and audit/tax coordination
• Proven ability to lead and develop a small team
• Strong technical skills, sound judgment, discretion, and executive presence
• Ability to work onsite in Uptown OKC
