Our client, a private equity-backed, multi-site operating company, is seeking a Controller to lead and scale the corporate accounting function in New York City. This high-impact leadership role reports directly to the CFO and is focused on building a robust, standardized finance operation to support rapid growth and ongoing transformation.

The annual base salary range is $200,000 to $325,000 + equity. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.

Job Responsibilities

• Lead and optimize the centralized accounting function, ensuring consistency across a multi-site organizational structure
• Implement best practices for close, consolidation, and financial reporting within a complex, acquisition-driven environment
• Collaborate with the CFO and executive leadership on financial visibility, analysis, and reporting improvements
• Drive process improvement and strengthen internal controls, bringing structure to historically fragmented areas
• Build and scale infrastructure to support business transformation and future growth
• Partner cross-functionally to align accounting, finance, and operational initiatives with organizational priorities

Job Requirements

• Prior experience as a Controller within a private equity-backed business required
• Active CPA license required

• Track record of success in transformation and process improvement roles
