Job Title: Controller / Senior Accounting Manager (Remote – Tri-State Area Only)

Location: Remote (Tri-State Area residents only; on-site presence required 1–2 times per month)

Job Type: Long-Term Consulting Engagement

Compensation: $60–$70 per hour (based on experience)

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and self-driven accounting professional to join our team in a long-term consulting capacity. This opportunity is ideal for a highly skilled Controller or Senior Accounting Manager who thrives in dynamic environments and enjoys taking ownership of accounting processes across multiple entities. While the role is primarily remote, candidates must be located in the Tri-State area due to occasional on-site requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and execute monthly close processes across five entities
• Prepare accurate financial statements and perform comprehensive balance sheet reconciliations
• Manage revenue recognition and expense accrual processes
• Identify and resolve accounting issues with limited documentation
• Provide audit support and assist with multiple audit engagements
• Ensure financial operations are conducted in compliance with applicable standards and regulations

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Controller or in a strong Manager-level accounting role
• Strong technical accounting skills and the ability to reverse-engineer financial processes
• Hands-on experience in financial statement preparation, reconciliations, and accruals
• High level of independence, analytical ability, and organizational skills
• Prior audit experience is a plus
• NetSuite experience is strongly preferred

Additional Information:

This is a remote consulting position requiring candidates to be based in the Tri-State area (NY, NJ, CT) due to periodic in-person meetings (approximately 1–2 times per month).
