Job summary

Creative Financial Staffing, LLC is seeking a Controller in Lutz, FL to lead the accounting function and influence both financial and operational strategy. You will oversee daily accounting operations, drive project accounting, and strengthen internal controls across multiple entities.

You will collaborate with operations leaders to improve project performance and profitability while modernizing reporting workflows.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience with leadership responsibility.
• Strong background overseeing AP, AR, and financial reporting.
• Experience with project accounting, including AIA billing, job costing, and WIP reporting.
• Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online and multi-entity accounting environments.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and month-end close activities.
• Manage project accounting functions such as AIA billing, job costing, and work-in-progress reporting.
• Prepare accurate financial statements and deliver meaningful reporting to executive leadership.
• Strengthen internal controls, streamline processes, and implement operational efficiencies.
• Serve as the Controller leading, developing, and mentoring a high-performing accounting team.
• Collaborate with operational leaders to support budgeting, project analysis, and business decision-making.
