• Experience with general ledger and month-end close.

• Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist CFO in managing all accounting operations: Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, cost accounting, inventory accounting, revenue recognition.
• Coordinate and direct budget and forecast preparation, and variance reporting.
• Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.
• Own the treasury function.
• Research technical accounting issues for compliance.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes.
• Ensure quality control over financial transactions and reporting.
• Manage local, state, and federal tax filings and reporting.
• Develop and document accounting policies to strengthen internal controls.
• Perform additional controller duties as needed.

Job Details

Responsibilities

• 1. Assisting the CFO in managing all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
• 2. Coordinating and directing the preparation of the budget, financial forecasts, and report variances.
• 3. Preparing and publishing timely monthly financial statements.
• 4. Owning the treasury function
• 5. Researching technical accounting issues for compliance.
• 6. Supporting month-end and year-end close process.
• 7. Ensuring quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
• 8. Managing and complying with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
• 9. Developing and documenting business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
• 10. Additional controller duties as necessary.

Qualifications

• 1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 2. Proven work experience as an Assistant Controller or other similar role for a minimum of 5 years.
• 3. Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• 4. Experience in the construction industry is highly preferred.
• 5. Hands-on experience with accounting software.
• 6. Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables.
• 7. Familiarity with construction accounting software such as QuickBooks or similar.
• 8. Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
• 9. Excellent accounting and financial skills along with the ability to analyze figures and knowledge of accounting principles.
• 10. Strong attention to detail and confidentiality.
• 11. Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• 12. Professional certification (e.g. CPA) is a plus.
