Job summary

UNITED MACHINING, based in Lincolnshire, IL, seeks an experienced finance leader to oversee accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and audits. You will guide staff, ensure strong controls, and coordinate with internal teams and external partners to maintain accurate financial records.

The role involves liaison with external auditors, tax agents, and banking partners, plus preparing timely financial reports and supporting VP, Finance & IT in strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree plus 5–7 years of related experience or equivalent
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and ERP systems (SAP/Great Plains/Oracle)

Responsibilities

• Perform accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and audit activities for the organization.
• Direct accounting personnel on proper procedures and systems to ensure accurate records and controls.
• Partner with departments to resolve processes affecting accounting and finances.
• Review product line and overhead variances with supporting documentation.
• Coordinate year-end external audit and issue the year-end financial report.
• Liaise with outside accountants, tax agents, finance companies, and bank officers.
• Review AP checks for compliance and sign checks.
• Prepare reports summarizing the company’s activity and financial position.
• Take on additional responsibilities as requested by VP, Finance & IT.
• Provide backup support for payroll approval.

Your profile

• Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university; and five to seven years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge and proficient experience with Microsoft Office Systems, including Excel in particular and Microsoft Word, ERP system (SAP, Great Plains, Oracle, etc…)
