Job summary

Orion Placement in Fremont, California is seeking a Senior Accounting Leader to manage all accounting operations, including GL, cost accounting, and fixed assets, while ensuring GAAP compliance. This role reports to the CFO in a hybrid setting, with three days in the office and two days remote.

The ideal candidate has 6+ years of accounting/finance experience, 3+ years in public accounting, and a strong grasp of internal controls and ERP systems. CPA/CMA preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA or CMA preferred.
  • 6+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
  • 3+ years of public accounting experience.
  • Experience in multi-site manufacturing or supply chain environments.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and internal controls.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems.
  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, Sisense, Qlik, or similar reporting tools is a plus.
  • Proven leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all accounting operations including general ledger, cost accounting, revenue recognition, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and month-end close.
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
  • Develop and strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures.
  • Partner with executive leadership on budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and strategic initiatives.
  • Collaborate with operations and supply chain teams to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
  • Lead annual audits and serve as the primary liaison with external auditors.
  • Drive ERP enhancements, financial reporting improvements, and automation initiatives.
  • Support treasury, tax compliance, and regulatory reporting activities.
  • Develop, mentor, and lead a high-performing accounting team while improving processes and efficiencies.
