The Controller is responsible for overseeing the company’s financial operations, including accounting, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, compliance, treasury activities, and internal controls. This role manages the accounting team, ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial data, supports audits, and collaborates across departments to optimize financial processes and provide strategic insights for decision-making.Key Responsibilities:Manage daily accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, fixed assets, and bank reconciliations.Maintain integrity of the general ledger and ensure accurate, GAAP-compliant monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.Lead month-end close processes, reconcile sub-ledgers and balance sheet accounts, and oversee financial reporting. Participate in monthly review with executives and board members as necessary.Support the CFO in strategic financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis.Manage depreciation schedule and asset related document administration.Analyze production costs, work in process (WIP), and percentage-of-completion estimates.Manage credit and collections processes, review credit applications, and evaluate client creditworthiness using external tools.Assist with customer billing, payment resolution, and account dispute investigations.Coordinate internal and external audits, including documentation preparation and compliance reviews.Ensure regulatory reporting requirements are met and internal controls are maintained.Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering a high-performing and growth-oriented team culture.Perform other related duties as assigned.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA and/or MBA preferred.Experience with public company reporting requirements and deadlines.Proven management experience or in a similar accounting role, preferably within the manufacturing, construction, building materials, and/or contracting industry.Experience with company roll-up entities.Experience with foreign ownership a plus.5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.Proficient in accounting software (Epicor preferred) and Microsoft Excel.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.High attention to detail and accuracy.Ability to travel to out-of-state facilities (approximately 10%)Ability to adhere to laws, regulations, and confidentiality guidelines.Ability to work in office as this position is not hybrid or remote.
