Job summary

CFS, a stable, growing Tennessee-based company, seeks an experienced Controller to lead financial operations and post-merger integration efforts.

You will manage the monthly close, financial reporting, and team development while partnering with executive leadership to drive transformation and accountability across accounting functions.

Office based in Franklin, you will build robust controls, improve processes, and align finance with strategic goals to sustain momentum and support growth.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Controller or senior accounting leader.
  • Strong GAAP knowledge and financial reporting experience.
  • Advanced Excel skills and hands-on ERP system experience.
  • Ability to improve processes and strengthen controls in a growing business.
  • Collaborative, hands-on leadership style across the organization.
  • Prior success in a Controller role within a dynamic, growth-oriented company.

Responsibilities

  • Lead monthly GAAP financial reporting, including full month-end close and financial statements.
  • Oversee AR, AP, and payroll while mentoring accounting staff.
  • Manage external audits and serve as primary liaison with auditors.
  • Build budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
  • Strengthen internal controls and drive process improvements across accounting ops.
  • Oversee banking relationships, treasury activities, and covenant reporting.

Key Responsibilities For The Controller

  • Manage the external audit process and serve as the primary liaison with auditors.
  • Build and implement budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
  • Strengthen internal controls and drive process improvements across accounting operations.
  • Oversee banking relationships, treasury activities, and loan covenant reporting.
Qualifications For The Controller
  • Proven experience as a Controller or senior accounting leader managing accounting teams and audit processes.
  • Strong technical knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and month‑end close procedures.
  • Advanced Excel skills and hands‑on experience working with ERP systems.
  • Ability to improve processes, strengthen controls, and support a growing business environment.
  • Collaborative, hands‑on leadership style with the ability to partner effectively across the organization.
