Job summary

Ledgent Finance & Accounting is partnering with a private equity-backed medical device manufacturer to recruit an experienced Controller in Englewood, CO. The role reports to the CFO and oversees all accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls, and a multi-person team.

The position partners with executive leadership on budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, and strategic decision-making, while driving process improvements and scalability across the finance organization.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Controller experience in manufacturing or healthcare.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and internal controls.
• Experience leading accounting teams and managing audits and regulatory reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead all accounting operations and close processes.
• Oversee general ledger, payables/receivables, fixed assets, payroll, and cash management.
• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
• Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies and internal controls.
• Partner with CFO and exec leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning.
• Manage external audits, tax compliance, and regulatory reporting.
• Lead revenue recognition and technical accounting initiatives.
• Oversee cost accounting, inventory, and variance analysis.
• Drive reporting improvements and mentor the accounting team.

About the Opportunity

A growing, private equity-backed medical device manufacturer is seeking an experienced Controller to lead its accounting function and serve as a strategic business partner to executive leadership. Reporting directly to the CFO, this individual will oversee all accounting operations, financial reporting, compliance, internal controls, and team leadership while helping support the company's continued growth and scalability.

This is a highly visible leadership role with responsibility for managing a multi-functional accounting team and driving process improvements across the finance organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, payroll oversight, cash management, and month-end close.
• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting processes.
• Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Partner with executive leadership on budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, and financial decision-making.
• Manage external audits, tax compliance activities, and regulatory reporting requirements.
• Lead revenue recognition activities and technical accounting initiatives.
• Oversee manufacturing and cost accounting, including inventory accounting, standard costing, COGS analysis, and variance reporting.
• Improve reporting processes, enhance data quality, and increase operational efficiency.
• Mentor, develop, and lead a high-performing accounting team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of Controller experience within manufacturing or healthcare-related industries.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, internal controls, and technical accounting.
• Experience leading accounting teams and developing finance staff.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
