Your Part-Time Controller, LLC (YPTC) is a nationally recognized nonprofit accounting specialist offering a hybrid work environment and flexible schedule. We seek a hands-on Controller to oversee outsourced accounting for multiple nonprofit clients, including financial reporting, controls, and audits, with interaction across client staff and boards.

The role emphasizes leadership across several client engagements, strong Excel and QuickBooks skills, and comfort with remote work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Accounting or Finance.
• 5–7+ years accounting experience.
• Experience working in a remote environment preferred.
• CPA certification is a plus.
• Bilingual-English/Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the outsourced Controller/CFO for multiple nonprofit clients with on-site and remote interaction.
• Transform nonprofit client financial departments to help them meet their mission.
• Prepare financial reporting for management and Board decision-making and presentations.
• Recommend and implement improvements to accounting, operations, internal controls, and compliance policies.
• Oversee transactional activities including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, general accounting, reconciliations, month-end close, and workpapers.
• Conduct analysis and data visualization, budgeting and forecasting.
• Manage grant allocations and funder reporting.
• Prepare for and manage annual audits.
• Provide client and staff training opportunities.

Responsibilities

Serve as the outsourced Controller/CFO for multiple non-profit clients. Your responsibilities would include:

• Transforming nonprofitclientfinancial departmentstohelp themmeettheir mission!
• Financialreporting formanagement andBoarddecisionmakingand presentations
• Recommendingandimplementingimprovements toaccounting, operations, internal controls,andcompliancepolicies andprocedures,supportingclient strategyand best practices
• Transactionalactivitiesincluding accounts payable, accounts receivable (revenue recognition and billing),andpayroll, general accounting, reconciliations, month-end close,andmaintainingworkpapers

Qualifications

• Passionate about working in or supporting non-profit organizations
• Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Accounting or Finance
• 5-7plusyears accounting experience
• Experience working in a remote environment preferred
• Ability to manageand leadmultiple clients, work independently,and be responsiveon a timely basis
• Demonstrated strongMicrosoftExcel skills
• Experience with multiple GL packages, especially QuickBooks, andelectronic bill paysystems
• Non-profitaccounting,publicaccounting experience, and/or consulting experienceisa plusbut not required
• CPA certification is a plus
• Bilingual-English/Spanish a plus

Starting annual base salary is $100,000 to $125,000 based on a 35-hour work week for this non-exempt position. Total compensation may increase with overtime pay and eligibility for various bonuses. A professional development reimbursement and technology stipend are also provided on an annual basis. Please note that the base salary offered may vary depending on relevant factors as determined by Your Part-Time Controller, LLC, which may include, but is not limited to, education, skill, experience, licensure and certifications, internal salary ranges, geographical location, and other business needs.
