Job summary

Your Part-Time Controller LLC is seeking a dedicated Controller for nonprofit clients in a hybrid, 35-hour work week. The role will involve managing multiple nonprofit accounts, coordinating with boards, and delivering robust financial reporting and controls.

Ideal candidates bring 5–7+ years in nonprofit accounting, strong Excel skills, and experience with QuickBooks and grant reporting. CPA is a plus, bilingual skills are valued, and a remote-friendly environment is supported.

Qualifications

• Passionate about working in or supporting non-profit organizations.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 5–7+ years accounting experience.
• Experience in a remote environment preferred.
• Ability to manage and lead multiple clients, work independently, and respond timely.
• Demonstrated strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience with QuickBooks and electronic bill pay systems.
• Non-profit accounting/consulting experience a plus but not required.
• CPA certification is a plus.
• Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

• Serve as outsourced Controller/CFO for multiple non-profit clients.
• Transform nonprofit client financial departments to meet their mission.
• Prepare financial reporting for management and Board decision-making.
• Recommend and implement improvements to accounting, operations, internal controls, and compliance policies.
• Handle transactional activities: AP, AR, payroll, general accounting, reconciliations, month-end close, and workpapers.
• Perform data analysis, budgeting and forecasting.
• Manage grant allocations and funder reporting.
• Prepare for and manage annual audits.
• Provide client and staff training opportunities.

Responsibilities

Serve as the outsourced Controller/CFO for multiple non-profit clients. Your responsibilities would include:

• Transforming nonprofitclientfinancial departmentstohelp themmeettheir mission!
• Financialreporting formanagement andBoarddecisionmakingand presentations
• Recommendingandimplementingimprovements toaccounting, operations, internal controls,andcompliancepolicies andprocedures,supportingclient strategyand best practices
• Transactionalactivitiesincluding accounts payable, accounts receivable (revenue recognition and billing),andpayroll, general accounting, reconciliations, month-end close,andmaintainingworkpapers
• Analysisand datavisualization, budgeting andforecasting

Qualifications

• Passionate about working in or supporting non-profit organizations
• Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Accounting or Finance
• 5-7plusyears accounting experience
• Experience working in a remote environment preferred
• Ability to manageand leadmultiple clients, work independently,and be responsiveon a timely basis

Starting annual base salary is $100,000 to $125,000 based on a 35-hour work week for this non-exempt position. Total compensation may increase with overtime pay and eligibility for various bonuses. A professional development reimbursement and technology stipend are also provided on an annual basis. Please note that the base salary offered may vary depending on relevant factors as determined by Your Part-Time Controller, LLC, which may include, but is not limited to, education, skill, experience, licensure and certifications, internal salary ranges, geographical location, and other business needs.
