Qualifications

• Requires accounting experience in retail, ecommerce, or manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and general ledger accounting.
• Experience managing month end close and preparing financial statements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting operations and ensure accurate, timely financial reporting.
• Take ownership of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Manage general ledger activities, reconciliations, accruals, and financial statement preparation.
• Strengthen internal controls and improve accounting policies and procedures.
• Partner with leadership to provide financial insights that support business decisions.
• Oversee inventory accounting, cost accounting, or product related financial activity as applicable.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial analysis.
• Identify opportunities to automate processes and improve reporting efficiency.
• Coordinate external audits and ensure compliance with GAAP.
• Help develop a scalable accounting infrastructure that supports continued business growth.

What You’ll Be Doing As Controller

What You Bring As Controller

• Accounting experience in retail, ecommerce, or manufacturing is required
• Current Controller or Accounting Manager ready to step into a broader leadership role
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and general ledger accounting
• Experience managing month end close and preparing financial statements
• Understanding of inventory, cost of goods sold, and product based accounting processes
• Experience improving accounting procedures, internal controls, and reporting accuracy
• Strong Excel skills and experience with ERP or accounting systems
• Ability to take ownership, solve problems independently, and confidently make recommendations
• Excellent communication skills and ability to partner with operational and executive leadership
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
• CPA is a plus, but not required

Logistics

Location: Los Angeles, CA (Carson / Downtown LA area)

Compensation: $140,000 to $160,000 annually
