Job summary

LHH is seeking a Controller for a manufacturing company near Orange, CA. The position offers a salary of 150–175k plus bonus, DOE. You will oversee standard costing, product costing, BOM changes, and month-end close, with a focus on cost and inventory accounting and internal controls.

Responsibilities include variance analysis, margin monitoring, budgeting, and leading annual inventories and audits. Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree and 7–10 years in manufacturing finance.

Qualifications

• Manufacturing industry experience required.

Responsibilities

• Analyze variances in material, labor, overhead and outside processing within a standard costing system.
• Own manufacturing BOM changes, standard rates, cost rollups and product costing.
• Monitor inventory accuracy and adherence to controls.
• Lead annual physical inventories.
• Analyze gross margin, identify trends and communicate findings.
• Evaluate purchase price variances with the purchasing dept.
• Assist with month end balance sheet reconciliations.
• Manage analysis of utilization, efficiency and productivity metrics.
• Lead the monthly close process including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Improve billing-related accounting processes and internal controls.
• Lead the annual budgeting and quarterly reforecast process.
• Manage all facets of local audits.

Job description

Controller needed for manufacturing company located near Orange, Ca. Will pay 150-175k plus bonus. DOE.

Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

• Analyze Material, Labor, Manufacturing Overhead and Outside Processing Variances in a standard costing system, including root cause analysis.
• Responsible for the manufacturing BOM changes, standard rates, cost rollups, GL accounts and product costing for all new and existing products.
• Monitor inventory accuracy for adherence to inventory controls.
• Lead annual physical inventories.
• Analyze gross margin results, correct anomalies, identify trends, and communicate findings.
• Evaluate Purchase Price Variances in conjunction with the purchasing department and identify root cause and financial impact.
• Assist with month end balance sheet reconciliations.
• Manage analysis of utilization, efficiency and productivity metrics.
• Lead the execution of the recurring financial month-end close process including preparation of month-end journal entries and reconciliations.
• Enhance accounting systems and processes, particularly those related to billing, while creating and maintaining internal controls.
• Lead the Financial Planning process including annual budget and quarterly reforecast.
• Manage all facets of local audits
