Job summary

FPC National in the North Georgia mountains is seeking a strategic Controller to own the full accounting function and partner with the CEO on financial strategy. You will lead a small team, manage month-end closes, and drive improvements in cash management and reporting in a manufacturing environment.

Located about 80–90 miles north of Atlanta, the role offers hybrid work with on-site impact, exposure to lenders, auditors, and senior leadership, and potential for system upgrades and automation

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and 7–10 years in progressive accounting roles.
• Experience as Controller or plant Controller in manufacturing.
• Proven ability to lead a small accounting team and manage month-end close.

Join a mid‑sized, privately held manufacturing company as the key financial leader partnering directly with the CEO. In this role, you will own the full accounting function, drive better financial reporting and cash management, and lead a major upgrade of the company’s accounting systems. The business has come through an industry reset and is now stabilized and focused on improving performance and positioning for future growth. Located in North Georgia mountains approximately 80-90 miles north of Atlanta.

YOU’LL BE A GREAT FIT IF YOU Have deep experience in manufacturing accounting, including inventory, cost accounting, and margin analysis in an environment with meaningful product flow. Can confidently own cash forecasting, banking relationships, and day‑to‑day treasury decisions while keeping leadership informed of risks and options. Enjoy leading a small accounting team as a true leader‑doer who balances hands‑on work with coaching and developing others. Are energized by fixing broken processes, implementing new systems or automations, and turning complex financial data into clear, practical insights for non‑finance leaders.

TO BE CONSIDERED

YOU’LL NEED A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, along with at least 7–10 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including several years in a Controller or plant Controller role in manufacturing. You should bring proven experience leading a small team, running month‑end close, managing audits and lenders, and implementing or upgrading accounting systems in an inventory‑based environment.
