Job summary

Seattle Search Group is seeking a hands-on Controller in Bellingham, WA. The role partners with the CFO and oversees daily accounting operations, including cash management, GL, and month-end close.

The position supports inventory and cost accounting in a manufacturing environment and offers a hybrid work model. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of accounting experience, strong GAAP knowledge, ERP experience (NorthScope a plus), and advanced Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and financial reporting.
• Experience with inventory and cost accounting in manufacturing environment is highly preferred.
• ERP experience; NorthScope experience a plus.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• CPA or public accounting experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting operations, including cash management and bank reconciliations.
• Manage the general ledger, journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Oversee accounts receivable, customer invoicing, collections, and cash application.
• Monitor cash flow and prepare daily cash reporting.
• Support inventory and cost accounting, including inventory valuation, product costing, and analysis of operational costs.
• Prepare financial statements and management reporting.
• Process expense reports, banking transactions, and payroll support activities.
• Assist with annual audits, 1099 reporting, and year-end close.
• Develop and document accounting procedures and strengthen internal controls.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting, and operational efficiencies.
• Partner closely with the CFO on financial analysis, budgeting, and special projects.

Location: Bellingham, WA (Hybrid: 3 Days In Office / 2 Days Remote)
Salary: $100,000-$125,000 DOE
Reports To: Chief Financial Officer

About the Opportunity

Our client is a well-established manufacturer and areseeking a hands-on Controller to partner directly with the CFO and oversee the day-to-day accounting operations of the organization.

This is a highly visible role for someone who enjoys being involved in all aspects of accounting while helping improve processes, strengthen internal controls, and support the company's continued growth.

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a hands-on environment
• CPA or public accounting experience is a plus but not required
