Job summary

firstPRO, Inc is seeking a hands-on Controller to join the leadership team and strengthen financial operations for a growing professional coaching and consulting firm. You will own day-to-day accounting, bring outsourced functions in-house, and provide meaningful business insights to senior leadership.

Location Bala Cynwyd, PA; base salary $130,000-$140,000 with 10% bonus; hybrid in-office schedule. You will collaborate closely with the CEO and Board of Advisors to deliver accurate financials

Responsibilities

• Partner with CEO and Board of Advisors providing financial analysis.
• Organize existing accounting processes with external CPA firm.

Job description

We're partnering with a growing professional coaching and consulting firm generating approximately $15M in annual revenue and serving recognizable, larger corporate clients. They are looking for a hands-on, highly organized Controller to join the leadership team and play a key role in strengthening their financial operations.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys accounting, process improvement, operational efficiency, and providing meaningful business insights to senior leadership.

What You'll Do

• Take ownership of the company's day-to-day accounting and financial operations
• Bring currently outsourced accounting functions in-house and establish efficient, scalable processes
• Oversee invoicing, accounts receivable, aging reports, contractor payments, and cash flow
• Manage payments to a network of 1099 coaching professionals
• Maintain and improve financial reporting and month-end close processes
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls, systems, and overall efficiency
• Assess the accounting team structure and determine future staffing needs
• Partner directly with the CEO and Board of Advisors, providing financial analysis and business insights
• Help clean up and organize existing accounting processes and ensure accurate, timely financial information
• Work closely with the company's external CPA firm, which handles tax filings

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Strong accounting fundamentals and hands-on Controller-level experience
• Experience with QuickBooks
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and process-minded
• Someone who enjoys the accounting function but can also step back and think strategically
• Strong understanding of AR, invoicing, financial reporting, and operational accounting
• Professional services experience is preferred but not required
• Comfortable working directly with a CEO and senior leadership
• Ability to assess existing processes, identify gaps, and implement practical improvements
• A proactive, roll-up-your-sleeves approach

The business is relatively straightforward from a financial complexity standpoint, but there is meaningful opportunity to improve organization, bring outsourced functions in-house, create efficiencies, and provide leadership with better financial visibility.

Location: Bala Cynwyd, PA - 3 days/week in office

Compensation: $130,000-$140,000 base + 10% bonus
