Job summary

Career Movement is seeking a first Controller to lead the finance function for its Orange County operations. You’ll own the monthly close, manage AP/AR, and design scalable processes as the company scales from its early stage.

You will partner with ownership on budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow visibility, while building a small accounting team and ensuring GAAP compliance across all reporting. This role focuses on building the finance function from the ground up.

Qualifications

• Own the monthly close and deliver accurate, timely financials to owners.
• Manage AP, AR and day-to-day accounting operations.
• Design and implement scalable processes, controls, and reporting structures.
• Identify inefficiencies and drive process improvements across the finance function.
• Partner with ownership on budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow visibility.
• Support job costing and margin analysis across service lines.
• Build and lead a small accounting team as the company grows.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and regulatory requirements.
• Evaluate and improve systems and tools (QuickBooks, ServiceTitan) to support growth.
