Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, calibrate, troubleshoot, repair, and overhaul control and instrumentation systems.
• Support electrical, electronic, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic instruments used to measure and control variables.
• Implement preventative maintenance schedules and maintain records.
• Troubleshoot and repair local and remote control systems (HVAC, gas turbines, boilers, air compressors, generators, valves).
• Program and adjust programmable data loggers and controllers.
• Read and interpret process and instrument diagrams.
• Maintain spare parts inventory and assist external service engineers.

Job description

A Control Technician is required to support the maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimisation of industrial control and instrumentation systems across water treatment facilities in the Milwaukee area. This role is suited to a technically skilled professional with experience working with electrical, electronic, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic control systems.

The Control Technician role offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of process control equipment, including programmable controllers, data logging systems, instrumentation, and supervisory control systems, while supporting reliable facility operations.

• $40 - $50 per hour DOE

The Control Technician Role:

• Install, maintain, calibrate, troubleshoot, repair, and overhaul control and instrumentation systems
• Support electrical, electronic, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic instruments used to measure and control variables such as pressure, flow, temperature, motion, force, and chemical composition
• Implement preventative maintenance schedules and maintain accurate maintenance records
• Troubleshoot and repair local and remote control systems, including HVAC, gas turbines, boilers, air compressors, generators, and valves
• Program and make corrections to programmable data loggers and controllers
• Read and interpret process and instrument diagrams
• Maintain spare parts inventory and assist external service engineers when required
• Generate and maintain records of ladder logic programming
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Associate degree in Instrument Technology, Electronic Technology, Computer Technology, or a related field preferred
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial control systems and instrumentation
• Knowledge of sensing devices including pressure, temperature, UV, motion, and fluid flow measurement
• Ability to work with computer systems, data entry tools, email, and office software
• Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, supervisors, and other stakeholders
• Valid driver’s license required
• Ability to work in confined spaces and wear breathing apparatus for confined entry
