Job summary

EmployBridge seeks an Industrial Controls Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, and program automated equipment, PLCs, and other control systems in a manufacturing setting.

The role covers optimizing PLC/HMI/SCADA configurations, startup validation, and cross-functional collaboration with Maintenance, Engineering, and Operations to raise reliability and productivity. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM; compensation is $35–$40+/hour, with flexibility for highly qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical diploma in Automation, Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechatronics, or related field.
• Experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar platforms).
• Working knowledge of HMI, SCADA, VFDs, industrial sensors, and control devices.
• Understanding of industrial networking and communication protocols.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, control drawings, and P&IDs.
• Strong troubleshooting skills in manufacturing and automated production environments.
• Experience with robotics, motion control, vision systems, or MES integration is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, maintain, and optimize PLC, HMI, SCADA, and automated control systems.
• Program, modify, and support PLC logic and HMI interfaces.
• Diagnose electrical, instrumentation, and controls-related equipment issues.
• Support industrial networks, communication protocols, and system integration projects.
• Perform startup, commissioning, and validation of automation equipment.
• Collaborate with Maintenance, Engineering, and Operations to improve equipment reliability and performance.
• Develop and maintain control system documentation, backups, and technical standards.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to increase productivity, quality, and safety.
