Job summary

Luminant is seeking a Power Plant Technician for the Hazelton Power Plant in Pardeesville, PA. The role oversees plant operations from the control room, conducts start-ups/shut-downs, and coordinates maintenance to ensure safe, reliable plant performance.

The position requires 2–4 years of related experience, a high school diploma or GED, and strong communication and computer skills. On-site work with safety protocols is essential.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of related experience in power plant operations.
• Tier 1 job performance measures including basic Operations, Mechanical, Electrical, and Instrument and Controls.

Responsibilities

• Inspects, repairs, and maintains plant equipment.
• Ensures proper operation of the plant.
• May oversee the plant in the absence of management.
• Repairs and calibrates equipment.
• Troubleshoots equipment and systems.
• Develops and implements plant operating procedures.
• Adheres to safety, health and environmental procedures (Lockout Tagout, JSA, Confined Space, Hot Work, Electrical Safety, PPE).
• Trains others in area of expertise.
• Performs technical work or analysis in assigned areas.
• Gains knowledge of the entire plant cycle.
