Job summary

Enviva is seeking a Control Room Operator to monitor and control plant systems, respond to alarms, and ensure safe, efficient production of renewable wood bioenergy. You will manage feed and processing subsystems, operate HMI interfaces, and coordinate with the operations team to maintain performance.

Ideal candidates understand control room operations, can interpret safety procedures, and possess basic math and computer skills. This role may involve outdoor industrial conditions and shift work.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Experience in wood products, furnace/dryer operations, or similar manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Ability to understand and follow written and verbal job instructions.

Responsibilities

• Operate plant functions from the control room.
• Manage chip feed, fuel feed, furnace, dryer, and pellet press systems.
• Act as primary contact for plant operations.
• Monitor indicators, alarms, and system statuses to ensure continuous operation.
• Translate signals into production adjustments and operate touch screens (HMI).
• Maintain schedules, equipment temperature, and safety standards.
• Assess malfunctions and coordinate corrective actions.
• Communicate with team members and respond to calls for assistance.
