Job summary

Enviva seeks a dedicated Control Room Operator to monitor all plant systems from the control room and respond to alarms. You will manage the chip feed, fuel feed, furnace, dryer, and pellet presses, ensuring safe, efficient operation and continuous production.

Ideal candidates understand control room operations, can prepare accurate records, and possess basic math, computer, and teamwork skills. Working conditions include outdoor environments and rotating shifts.

Qualifications

• Understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures.
• Use basic hand tools.
• Basic computer and math skills.
• Learn how to operate HMI touch screens.

Responsibilities

• Operate plant functions from the control room.
• Monitor feed systems and furnace, dryer, sizing, and pellet presses.
• Act as the main contact for plant operations.
• Check indicators, lights, production rates and system status; monitor spark detection.
• Translate signals into production actions and adjust processes as needed.
• Maintain schedules, equipment temperature, and safety standards.
• Assess malfunctions and resolve issues using technical knowledge.
