Job summary

The role emphasizes learning to operate varied generation units, coordinating with load management teams, and maintaining plant performance within SRP standards. A structured training path supports progression to higher classifications.

Qualifications

• Must complete at least one year as an O&M Specialist III or equivalent.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
• Must possess valid Arizona driver’s license; respirator medical certification may be required.

Responsibilities

• OJT curriculum completion and promotion to Operator Specialist.
• Learn operation of coal, natural gas, fuel oil fired steam units and turbines.
• Coordinate unit availability and loads with AGC; operate units safely within SRP guidelines.
