Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Control Room Lead/SOP Specialist to supervise shift personnel in a 24/7 Traffic Management Center in Omaha, NE. You will ensure SOP compliance, quality control, and staff development while coordinating incidents and contractor activities.

The role requires knowledge of Nebraska Interstate/Arterial networks, strong MS Office skills, and ability to work weekends, nights, and holidays in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma + 2+ years of experience as a Traffic Monitoring Operator.
• Preferred supervisory experience and strong documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage and log traffic incidents in an advanced transportation management system.
• Coordinate and dispatch incident response crews to incidents safely and quickly.
• Detect, confirm, and track equipment failures affecting control room operations.
• Coordinate with local, regional, and statewide stakeholders with incident information.
• Inform first responders of traffic incidents and assist in lane closures and diversions.
• Coordinate incidents with local municipalities for resolution and updates.
• Conduct periodic audits to ensure procedural compliance and staff understanding.
• Oversee shift scheduling and attendance policies with senior managers.
• Coordinate and track all employee training for initial and recurrent training.
• Lead post-incident analysis and update SOPs accordingly.
• Collaborate with SOP SME and Data Analyst to improve documents.
