This is a great opportunity for someone who understands commercial contract principles, has strong attention to detail, and can exercise sound judgment when managing multiple contract matters while recognizing when an issue requires attorney review.

This role...

  • Drafts, reviews, revises, and coordinates execution of standard and moderately complex contracts, amendments, business associate agreements, confidentiality agreements, statements of work, and other legal documents.
  • Performs first-level substantive review of third-party contract templates, identifies non-standard legal provisions, and prepares recommended revisions for attorney review.
  • Works with attorneys and business stakeholders to support contract negotiations and resolve routine contractual issues.
  • Conducts legal and factual research related to contractual provisions, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
  • Prepares contract summaries, issue lists, and redlines to support attorney review and negotiations.
  • Maintains contract files, documentation, version control, and execution records within the contract management system.
  • Monitors contract status, approval workflows, renewals, amendments, and expiration dates.
  • Assists with maintaining contract templates, clause libraries, legal forms, and departmental procedures.
  • Responds to internal questions regarding contract processes, legal forms, and standard contractual language.
  • Participates in initiatives focused on improving contract management processes and operational efficiency.
  • Maintains confidentiality of privileged and sensitive legal information.

What you'll bring...

  • Bachelor's degree in Legal Studies, Business Administration, Paralegal Studies, or a related field.
  • At least three years of experience in a corporate legal department, law firm, or contract administration function.
  • Experience drafting and reviewing commercial contracts and legal documents preferred.
  • Working knowledge of commercial contract principles and legal terminology.
  • Ability to identify contractual risks and recognize when legal issues require attorney review.
  • Knowledge of contract lifecycle management and legal document administration.
  • Strong legal writing, editing, proofreading, and document review skills.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and critical-thinking skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with attorneys and business clients.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and contract management systems such as DocuSign CLM, Legisway, or similar platforms.
  • Healthcare, managed care, or regulated industry experience preferred.
  • Paralegal certificate or contract management certification is a plus.
