Job summary

Lightedge is seeking a skilled legal professional to join our team in Des Moines, IA. You will work closely with the General Counsel and Commercial Counsel, handling contracts, leases, and corporate matters in a fast-changing environment.

This hands-on role requires independence, strong drafting abilities, and the capacity to build scalable processes across commercial transactions, real estate, and compliance initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, law or related field; law background preferred.
• 3–5 years of legal experience in law firm, in-house, or related environment.
• CLA designation or Paralegal Certification a plus.
• Ability to independently review, draft, and revise contracts with limited supervision.
• Experience with contract lifecycle management (CLM) preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication with confidentiality and multi-priority handling.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve a contract database.
• Draft, review, negotiate, and summarize commercial agreements, including technology transactions and real estate leases.
• Serve as the point of contact for business teams on contract questions and guide stakeholders from intake through signature.
• Develop and maintain contract templates, playbooks, and clause libraries.
• Track contract obligations, renewal dates, and key milestones to support compliance and timely action.
• Prepare lease abstracts and support related leases, amendments, LOIs, and construction agreements.
• Coordinate with external and internal stakeholders on facility matters.
• Assist with corporate maintenance, registered-agent matters, and entity housekeeping.
• Assist with M&A diligence, closing checklists, and post-closing deliverables.
• Support insurance renewals and compliance documentation.
• Assist with pre-litigation / litigation support tasks such as gathering records and coordinating follow-ups.
