RhinoLabs in New York is seeking an Associate Counsel to own the contracts and corporate governance function. This role partners with teams across the company, focusing on drafting, negotiations, and governance while addressing regulatory and consumer financial services matters.

You will support product, marketing, and compliance teams, ensuring clear terms, policy alignment, and practical legal guidance in a fast-paced startup environment.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of corporate governance and contract management experience.
• Experience in debt collection or consumer financial services is preferred.
• Exposure to regulated industries (insurance/finance/healthcare).
• Strong drafting and negotiation skills across commercial agreements.
• Experience building contract templates, playbooks, or organized contract management processes.

Responsibilities

• Own and improve contract lifecycle: intake, drafting, review, negotiation, execution and renewal tracking.
• Draft and maintain templates, playbooks, and standard positions to accelerate business decisions.
• Support commercial, vendor, and service agreements, NDAs, and data protections terms.
• Maintain corporate records and governance across the organization; manage filings and authorities.
• Partner with Compliance to monitor laws affecting insurance and financial products; respond to regulatory inquiries.
• Advise Product teams and review marketing materials for legal sufficiency.
• Provide practical legal support to consumer financial services; translate regulations into actionable terms.
• Coordinate with outside counsel on litigation matters and ensure organized matter tracking.
