Job summary

The City of El Paso is seeking a contracts professional to oversee, develop and execute contracts for the department. You will draft, negotiate, finalize and manage professional services and construction contracts, including contract modifications and notices to proceed.

You will ensure funding is encumbered, expenditures stay within budgets, and compliance with contract terms. You will coordinate with legal, engineers, consultants and auditors, and prepare reports on financial and contractual

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in business or public administration, social/behavioral sciences or related field.
• Four years of experience in contract development or administration; grant administration; or purchasing at federal, state, or local level.

Responsibilities

• Oversee, develop and execute contracts for the assigned department.
• Develop, write, negotiate, finalize and execute professional services and construction contracts.
• Involves: negotiate, write and execute related contract modifications.
• Issue Notices to Proceed.
• Monitor bid processes, proposals and contracts.
• Validate funding sources, monitor expenditures, and approve contractor payments.
• Meet with staff regularly to plan, assign, and review work.
