ROLE OVERVIEW

In the role of Contracts Counsel, the employee will be responsible for the following:

• Leading the drafting and negotiation of vendor contracts across the business, including research, data, software licensing, telecommunications, consulting, hardware, real estate, recruiting and other products and services
• Skillfully managing both legal and practical business considerations while working collaboratively with various BAM departments to ensure timely and efficient review
• Using AI-enabled legal and contract-management tools to enhance contract review, drafting, negotiation, and workflow efficiency, while maintaining attorney oversight
• Reviewing and handling various legal inquiries by business units
• Willingness to contribute to broader legal team function and learn new skills and subject matter
• Assisting with document retention and organization obligations
• Demonstrating strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work both independently and in a highly collaborative environment, with good judgment regarding when to elevate issues

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE

• At least 1-3 years of legal experience required
• Juris Doctorate Degree
• Familiarity with the financial markets/finance firms is a plus
