Job summary

Samsung E&A America Inc. is seeking a Contract Administrator to support successful construction projects by managing contract administration, claims, and project documentation.

The role requires coordination with internal teams and external partners to ensure contractual compliance and proper document control from initiation through completion. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience in construction contracting, strong bilingual Korean/English skills, and a BA/BS in Construction

Qualifications

  • Must be eligible to work in the US without visa sponsorship.
  • Korean/English bilingual requirement with advanced English.
  • BA/BS in Construction Management or Construction Law.
  • Minimum 5 years in construction contracting.
  • Minimum 3 years in construction field.
  • Highly organized with attention to detail and follow-ups.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and PDF programs.
  • Ability to handle confidential information.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with Change Orders and Claims.
  • Experience in industrial and factory construction projects.
  • Experience in multicultural environments.
  • Ability to commute to the field office.
  • Willingness to overtime/weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Manage contract documentation, including official correspondence, legal documents, claims, and meeting minutes.
  • Collect, prepare, and respond to official and legal correspondence with the Contracts Manager.
  • Coordinate contract administration among headquarters, engineering teams, project teams, and business partners.
  • Support review of contract terms and monitor contractual obligations, milestones, and notice requirements with the Contracts Manager.
  • Manage change orders and subcontractor claims, including clarification, evaluation, and preparation of approval requests to the Owner.
  • Prepare contract and claims reports for management.
  • Coordinate contract settlements and project closeout documentation with the Owner and subcontractors.
  • Maintain contract records and document control throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Participate in contract-related meetings and negotiations with the Owner, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • Assumes other responsibilities as assigned by the Company.

Job description

This position Supports the successful execution of construction projects by managing contract administration, claims, and project documentation. Coordinates with internal and external stakeholders to ensure contractual compliance, effective communication, and proper document control from project initiation through completion.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Qualification/Requirement
  • Must be eligible to work in the US legally without visa sponsorship.
  • Korean/English bilingual (Korean: Native, English: Advanced Business, native preferred), ability to use legally binding language.
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience of related field of Construction Management or Construction Law.
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and follow-ups.
  • At least 5 years of proven experience in construction contracting.
  • At least 3 years of working experience in the construction field.
  • Ability to handle highly confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PPT), PDF Programs.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and prioritize routine and ad hoc tasks
  • Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, and communication skills.
  • Strong organization skills with a problem-solving attitude.
  • Demonstration of strong compliance to procedures and guidelines.
  • Consistently approaches work with a positive and constructive attitude. Demonstrate openness and respond positively to feedback.
  • Experience in Construction Change Order and Claims
  • Experience in industrial and factory construction projects
  • International and multi-cultural experience a plus
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural surrounding
  • Structured thinking and understanding.
  • Experience working in a construction site or manufacturing plant.
