Job summary

ABA Search, Inc. is seeking an Associate Director / Director, Contracts and Alliances in South San Francisco, CA to lead a broad range of R&D agreements and act as a business liaison to scientists and external collaborators.

You will work closely with senior leadership, R&D, alliance management, and finance to ensure milestones are met and templates are improved. This on-site role requires a strong background in contracts negotiation within biotech or life sciences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 5+ years in contracts negotiation/management or business development.
• Direct experience negotiating R&D agreements in healthcare/life sciences.
• Proven track record in establishing and supporting R&D collaborations.
• Strong IP terms proficiency and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Draft, negotiate, and finalize a broad range of agreements (sponsored research, CDAs, MTAs, licenses, MSAs, CDMO contracts, consulting agreements).
• Serve as primary business/contracts liaison for active scientific collaborations.
• Partner with legal and IP counsel to identify risk and ensure compliance.
• Collaborate with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to streamline approvals and CLM.
• Support active research collaborations.
• Drive continuous improvement of templates and workflows across BD group.
