Qualifications

  • BS in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering or related field.
  • At least 10 years in Supply Chain, procurement or contracting.
  • Experience with Ariba Suite or DocuSign for bid events.
  • Upstream Oil & Gas experience in geoscience/geotechnical/seismic domain preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication; strong analytical and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage a portfolio of upstream Geoscience contracts.
  • Implement commercial strategies and provide guidance to end users.
  • Identify value, rationalization, and opportunities within the portfolio.
  • Lead competitive bids, negotiations, auctions, and renewals for the portfolio.
  • Build relationships with stakeholders through in-person meetings and events.
  • Monitor supplier performance and contract leakage to drive improvements.

Job description

Contracts Advisor (Intermediate)
  • Pay Rate: $90 - $109.15/hour (on W2)
  • Contract Length: 12 months
  • Location: Onsite | Spring, TX 77389
Overview

The role's primary responsibility is to maximize the total value of the agreement portfolio throughout the purchase-to-pay process from strategy to implementation, while ensuring operational integrity. This role supports Geoscience contracting activities globally and including Geophysical (Seismic Acquisition, Marine Surveys, Core Samples, etc.) and Geotechnical (Seismic Processing/Reprocessing and Data Licensing) scopes.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, own, and maintain a portfolio of contracts within Upstream - Geoscience Procurement
  • Implement innovative commercial strategies and provide commercial guidance to end users
  • Identify business value and rationalization, and competitive opportunities within the portfolio
  • Create and implement innovative contracting strategies with guidance from Category Manager
  • Execute competitive bids, concurrent negotiations, auctions, renewals, etc. for given portfolio
  • Build strong working relationships with key stakeholders via in-person meetings, facility tours, lunch & learns, trade shows, market events, field trips, etc.
  • Develop market expertise – follow market trends, know supplier landscape, latest technologies, etc.
  • Know supplier capabilities and performance trends
  • Utilize Supplier Relationship Management to drive strong partnerships
  • Identify efficiencies by continually reviewing contract leakage, overheads, and third-party markups
  • Test appropriate compensation methods (unit rate vs. T&M vs. lump sum, etc.)
  • Track cost avoidance, cost mitigation, and business enhancement results
  • Understand and monitor how agreements are being utilized at transactional/operational level
Qualifications
  • BS in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, other relevant Business or Engineering degree from accredited institution
  • Minimum of 10 years of Supply Chain experience, preferably in Procurement/Purchasing (contracting, sourcing, buying, etc.)
  • Ariba Suite/Docusign (or similar platform experience) for managing bid events and contract documentation
  • Upstream Oil and Gas experience, with preference for experience in geoscience/geotechnical/seismic domain.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills including use of sound judgement
  • Effective negotiator and influencer at all levels of the organization – both internal & external
  • Ability to create strong working relationships with key stakeholders
  • Effective collaborator
  • Team player with the ability to adapt to changing requirements or deadlines
  • Demonstrate initiative & personal ownership
