What You Can Expect

As a Contracts Advisor, you are responsible for structuring the commercial framework of major agreements and leading contract delivery strategies and negotiations for large capital projects. You ensure all projects are executed in compliance with procurement policies and the organization’s ethics charter. In this role, you oversee the development of contract documentation that aligns with project requirements, identifies risks, and incorporates mitigation strategies. You manage the full contract lifecycle, including tendering, negotiation, and formalization, and act as the primary point of contact for defining and executing the project’s contract strategy, planning, and implementation.

  • Manage development of project contracts with multiple stakeholders, assessing commercial terms, identifying risks, and implementing mitigation measures.
  • Develop contracting strategies that appropriately flow down provisions and limit the company’s exposure to acceptable levels.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions with contractors for medium and large energy related projects, supporting both existing partnerships and new opportunities.
  • Support and cultivate strategic alliances with EPC and General Contractors to strengthen business development efforts.
  • Lead the development of complete RFP packages aligned with project schedules and stakeholder requirements.
  • Drive the full bidding process as the primary point of contact, coordinating meetings, site visits, RFP addenda, and managing negotiations with selected bidders to resolve scope and contractual issues.
  • Oversee contract administration, including preparation of final contracts, award documents, Notices to Proceed, review of invoices, and evaluation/negotiation of Change Order Requests.
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts focused on reducing total installed cost, lowering owner risk, shortening project schedules, minimizing change orders and claims, and preparing all required project close out documentation.
  • Support initiatives to reduce project cost, schedule, and overall risk exposure.
What You’ll Bring
  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering or Master of Legal Studies or JD with an emphasis in Construction.
  • Minimum seven (7) years’ experience in contract management for medium and large industrial EPC projects or a related field.
  • Understanding of legal issues in design and construction, project execution and project related tax, finance, and insurance.
  • Experience in contract development and/or contract administration, including an understanding of procurement procedures.
