Job summary

Vestwell is seeking a Contractor, People Services to join our People Team. This role will support HRIS administration, payroll, benefits, and compliance, helping keep employee records accurate and processes moving smoothly.

You will handle onboarding inquiries, VOE requests, and benefits questions, maintain our leave platform Sparrow, and assist with annual reporting and audits. Ideal candidates bring 2+ years in a People/HR role and strong attention to detail in a fast-paced startup environment.

Qualifications

• Experience managing HRIS data and employee records.
• Experience with payroll, benefits, and compliance administration.
• Experience with leave management and compliance tasks.
• Experience in a high-paced startup or SaaS environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain employee records in HRIS (Rippling).
• Manage People Ops inbox and answer onboarding, VOE, benefits, and leave inquiries.
• Escalate complex issues to appropriate teams.
• Support HRIS reporting and internal metrics.
• Assist payroll for semi-monthly, hourly, and contractor payroll.
• Assist state and federal filing requirements.
• Help create job descriptions ensuring classification and compensation compliance.
• Support data gathering for annual reporting, RFPs, and audits.
• Manage benefit compliance tasks including distribution of SPDs and SPCs.
• Manage Sparrow leave platform and process leaves per policy (FMLA, maternity/paternity, bereavement, etc.).
