Job summary

Vestwell is a financial technology company enabling savings across retirement, education, and healthcare. We are seeking a Contractor, People Services to support HRIS administration (Rippling), payroll processing, benefits, and compliance for a hybrid team.

The role includes managing employee records, handling onboarding inquiries, and aiding with reporting, audits, and leave management. Experience in a startup/SaaS environment and with Rippling/Sparrow is a plus.

Qualifications

• Proficient with Google Drive tools, including Sheets, GMail, Docs, and Slides.
• 2+ years of experience in People Team or a service-related role.
• Ability to handle confidential information responsibly and professionally in accordance with departmental policies.
• Excellent organizational and follow-through skills to ensure the completion of assigned tasks.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and cross-functionally.

Responsibilities

• HRIS and Employee Support: Maintain the accuracy and completeness of employee records within our HRIS, Rippling.
• Payroll, Benefits & Compliance: Support semi-monthly, hourly, and contractor payroll; assist with state and federal filing requirements.
• Compliance tasks: Prepare data for annual reporting, RFPs, and audits; distribute plan documents and legal notices.
• Leave management: Maintain Sparrow and process leave requests per policy (FMLA, parental leave, bereavement, PTO).
• General: Escalate complex issues and provide tier-one support for onboarding, VOE, benefits, and leave inquiries.
