Job summary

National Railroad Safety Services, Inc. (NRSS) seeks a Contractor in Charge (CIC) in Pullman, WA, to oversee construction, maintenance, and safety compliance for freight railroads, transit systems and state DOTs.

The CIC will lead safety-focused operations, coordinate flagging as needed, and ensure adherence to federal regulations. Expect long-term travel and mandatory safety trainings; valid driver's license required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years' railroad experience preferred (maintenance of way or TY&E).
• Valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Oversee worksite safety and provide flagging services as needed.
• Ensure compliance with FRA regulations (49 CFR 214) during track-adjacent work.
• Monitor track conditions, approaching trains and work activities for safety.
