National Railroad Safety Services, Inc. (NRSS) is seeking a Contractor in Charge (CIC) in Washington, DC to oversee safety within railroad rights‑of‑way and ensure compliance with regulations.

The CIC will supervise construction, maintenance, and safety for freight railroads, transit systems, and DOT partners, traveling extensively (50–85%). A valid driver’s license and a high school diploma or equivalent are required.

Formación

• Minimum 2 years' railroad experience, preferably in maintenance of way or TY&E.
• Strong ability to communicate in written and verbal formats.
• Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation.

Responsabilidades

• Oversee worksite safety and provide flagging services as needed.
• Conduct job briefings and ensure FRA compliance (49 CFR 214).
• Monitor track conditions and approaching trains to keep personnel safe.
• Coordinate train movements with dispatchers and engineers.
• Document activities, incident reports, logs, and electronic forms.
• Enforce Railroad, State, and Federal policies.
