Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Test Technician I in Schaumburg, IL to support electronic manufacturing by troubleshooting assembly and system-level failures. You will work hands-on with test equipment, collaborate with Test Engineers and customers, and provide break-fix support while creating and verifying testing documentation and processes.

The role requires an EE degree and hands-on testing experience; you will track defects, contribute to improvements, and operate in a production/test environment.

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering (EE).
• At least 2 years of experience with multimeters, oscilloscopes, and network analyzers.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics and electronic datasheets.
• Experience troubleshooting electronics at assembly or system level down to component level.
• Ability to track bugs and defects and contribute to solutions.
• Understanding of how testing aligns with product requirements and processes.
• Hands-on use of electronic test equipment in production or test environments.

Responsibilities

• Use failure reports, schematics, datasheets to troubleshoot down to component level for repair.
• Collaborate with Test Engineers and customers to expand product knowledge.
• Provide break-fix support for test equipment to keep systems operational.
• Utilize oscilloscopes, multimeters, network analyzers for detailed electronic testing.
• Create and verify documentation, programs, models, or processes for testing and repair.
• Demonstrate understanding of how testing supports product requirements.
• Track bugs and defects, document findings, help develop solutions.
• Support continuous improvement by giving feedback on test processes and equipment.
• Work hands-on with electronic assemblies ensuring proper handling and testing.
