Job summary

Johnson Service Group (JSG) is seeking a degreed Major Equipment Procurement/Thermal Process Engineer for an eight‑month contract in Waynesboro, GA. The role focuses on thermal analysis for simple and combined cycle plants, sizing major equipment, and field support at plant sites.

The candidate should have 7–10 years of related experience, a mechanical engineering degree, and preference for PE or Master's credentials. Travel required, standard JSG benefits apply.

Qualifications

• Accredited Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• PE license preferred; Master's degree preferred.
• 7–10 years of related experience.
• Experience in thermodynamics for at least 3 years.
• Experience with simple and combined cycle plants.
• Experience with heat balance and mass balance.
• Experience writing reports and specifications.
• Plant site experience preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Perform thermal analysis of simple and combined cycle plants on a daily basis.
• Write technical reports and specifications.
• Run heat balance software.
• Size major equipment for the new as well as retrofit projects.
• Utilize proficient Excel skills for data and calculations.
• Utilize Thermoflow, Gate Cycle, or other Heat Balance programs.
• Troubleshoot plant equipment under warranty and provide field support.
• Support Start up of new equipment at plant sites.
