Job summary

Zurich Insurance Company Ltd. in Atlanta seeks an Underwriting Specialist or Executive Underwriter for the Contract Surety Division. This role involves underwriting, marketing, and building broker relationships, with travel up to ~25% and a mix of technical and client-facing duties.

The role offers base pay with incentive plans and a generous 401K match, and requires experience with Surety lines and regulatory guidelines.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 3+ years in Underwriting or Market Facing area, or 6+ years in Claims/Underwriting Support.
• Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with an Associate Degree and 1+ year in Underwriting or Market Facing area, or 4+ years in Claims/Underwriting Support.
• Knowledge of Surety line/s of business and the legal and regulatory guidelines.
• Knowledge of time restraints for quotes on new and renewal business.
• Experience with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Production and underwriting of new Surety accounts and existing business.
• Internal marketing and production to support cross-sell efforts.
• Execution of the external marketing strategy.
• Adherence to underwriting rules and insurance laws and Zurich guidelines.
• Establish new and develop existing agency and broker relationships.
• Work within limits and authorities on assignments of varying complexity.
