ROLEWe are seeking an experienced Contract Specialist (Federal Acquisition Support) to provide acquisition and contracting support to the U.S. Capitol Police Office of Acquisition Management (OAM) in Washington, DC. This role is part of a high-visibility contract supporting critical law enforcement operations on Capitol Hill. The ideal candidate will bring demonstrated experience in pre-award and post-award acquisition lifecycle functions in a federal environment.This is a full-time opportunity in which we'll provide competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, and job stability and security.Apply today!KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Conduct market research and prepare documentation (e.g., market surveys, pre-award notices)
- Support development of acquisition strategies (e.g., IGCEs, justifications, clearances, and contract file documentation)
- Draft Statements of Work (SOW), Performance Work Statements (PWS), and solicitations (RFQs, RFPs, combined synopsis/solicitations)
- Assist with proposal evaluations and prepare award documentation
- Maintain contract files and track actions in federal systems (e.g., FPDS via PRISM, Momentum)
- Support contract administration, including modifications, options, compliance monitoring, and invoice processing
- Provide technical advice to government personnel on acquisition methods and best practices
REQUIRED SKILLS- Strong writing, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to interpret and apply federal contracting rules and procedures
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE- 3+ years of federal contracting or acquisition experience
- Federal Acquisition Certification in Contracting (FAC-C)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and federal procurement systems (PRISM, Momentum)
REQUIRED EDUCATION- Bachelor's degree (Must include 24 semester hours in one or more of the following: Accounting, Business, Finance, Law, Contracts, Purchasing, Economics, Industrial Management, Marketing, Quantitative Methods, or Organization and Management)
