SCADA Systems Engineer – CONTRACT ONLY - Houston, Hybrid (6 MONTHS INITIALLY WITH OPTION TO EXTEND)

Edison Smart is seeking a SCADA Systems Engineer for a key project with one of our renewable energy clients.

Key responsibilities

• Design, configure, and test SCADA systems for renewable generation sites
• Support integration with power plant controllers, substations, and grid interconnects
• Implement industrial protocols (Modbus, DNP3, IEC 61850, OPC UA)
• Validate SCADA designs and control schemes with project stakeholders
• Support commissioning, troubleshooting, and performance analysis
• Ensure compliance with OT cybersecurity standards

Requirements

• Solid experience delivering SCADA systems on utility-scale renewable projects
• Strong knowledge of SCADA software/hardware (e.g., Ignition, Wonderware, SEL, RTUs, IEDs, PLCs)
• Familiarity with grid interface controls (voltage, frequency, power)
• Experience with industrial communications and remote data acquisition
• Ability to support multi-disciplinary teams during design, build, and handover
