Job summary

Jobot in Rio Rancho, NM is seeking a Senior Accountant on a contract basis to lead month-end and year-end closes, manage journal entries, and ensure accurate general ledger activity in a fast-paced construction environment.

You will support job costing, WIP reporting, audits, and cross-functional collaboration with operations and project teams; the role requires 3+ years of accounting in construction and a Bachelor’s in Accounting.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in construction
• Strong understanding of GAAP and GL accounting
• Experience with job costing and project-based accounting
• Familiarity with WIP reporting
• Proficiency in Sage/QuickBooks or similar
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end and year-end closes.
• Prepare and review journal entries and general ledger activity.
• Perform complex account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Support job costing and project financial tracking.
• Assist with WIP schedules and percentage of completion accounting.
• Prepare financial reports and support management with analysis.
• Assist with audits and ensure compliance with internal controls.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with operations and project teams.
