Job summary

Jobot Consulting in Rio Rancho, NM is seeking an experienced contract accounting professional to support a growing contracting company. This role focuses on month-end close, journal entries, and project financial tracking in a fast-paced environment.

You will work with operations and project teams, handle WIP schedules and completion accounting, and assist with audits and internal controls. A Bachelor's in Accounting and 3+ years of construction accounting experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in construction or contracting.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and general ledger accounting.
• Experience with job costing and project-based accounting.
• Familiarity with WIP reporting is a plus.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, or similar).
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end and year-end close processes.
• Prepare and review journal entries and general ledger activity.
• Perform complex account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Support job costing and project financial tracking.
• Assist with WIP schedules and percentage of completion accounting.
• Prepare financial reports and support management with analysis.
• Assist with audits and ensure compliance with internal controls.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with operations and project teams.
