Job summary

Tate & Lyle is seeking a Lab Technician for the Central QC Lab in Hoffman Estates, IL. The role involves routine compositional analysis, NIR calibration testing, and support for CQC projects and product releases.

The ideal candidate has an associate degree in chemistry (bachelor's preferred) and hands-on lab experience, with familiarity in SAP and MS Office. The position is onsite for approximately six months, with potential extension.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Chemistry or 1–2 years lab experience.
• Bachelor's degree from college or university preferable.
• Ability to read and interpret safety procedures, SOPs, and lab manuals.
• Knowledge of HPLC and chromatographic techniques; SAP familiarity is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Analyze organic and inorganic compounds to determine properties and composition using wet chemistry, chromatography, spectroscopy, and viscosity techniques.
• Test finished products from multiple sites and report results to quality representatives.
• Compile and analyze test data to diagnose malfunctions and evaluate process efficiency.
• Maintain a clean, organized lab environment and follow EHS/SOPs.
• Enter data into Excel, LIMS, or SAP; prepare certificates of analysis on request.
• Calibrate and maintain lab instruments and equipment to standards.
• Prepare sample batches for customers and sales team.
• Conduct stability testing on lab and manufacturing samples.
