Job summary

MDS Staffing in Laredo, TX is seeking a Phlebotomist for a 3 month contract with potential for permanent placement. Responsibilities include blood draws, specimen labeling, centrifugation, and proper specimen handling across two locations in Laredo.

Schedule rotates between locations with mornings and afternoons, and training is provided. The role requires OSHA/DEP compliance knowledge and accurate documentation.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• High School Diploma or GED (minimum 1 year of experience)

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain venipuncture and specimen collection processes clearly and courteously.
• Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes, label and package specimens for transport.
